Charles Alan Torrise, the Democratic candidate for Mt. Arlington Borough Council has been a Mt. Arlington resident for seven years on Windemere Avenue. He loves life here on the lake.

He previously resided in Hopatcong and grew up in Landing, aka Port Morris. He went through the Roxbury School system, graduating from Roxbury High School in 1973. Then, he earned a BA degree from Drew University, and studied at the University of Oxford and Georgetown University.
He began his career in journalism, working as an editor and writer for trade publications. Then, he performed the same roles in book publishing and advertising. At the turn of the century, he attended Chubb Institute in Parsippany, learning computer programming. Most recently, he worked as a remote contractor with Thomas Jefferson University, helping to launch their redesigned website.
He has been involved with politics since high school, beginning with the George McGovern presidential campaign in 1972. He is a lifelong registered Democrat.
